2004 Honda 9.9 Throttle Cable

Good Morning. My throttle cable broke on my trolling motor. Everywhere I search says its discontinued. Anyone have ideas for sourcing a new or used one?
The part number I find on-line for the cable is 17910-ZW9-003.

Hi,

I see that you're right, that part number is listed as "unavailable".

But there is a cable listed on the same parts page ie: 17910-ZW9-003 for a later serial/frame number (2007 and later)

See the second item #2 in the link below.



Now, I don't know if the new number is an exact fit or replacement for yours. But, often, the change in part number is simply a supercession due to a change in materials or other slight difference.

I point this out because, at less than $30 plus tax and shipping, it might be worth ordering one and chancing that it will fit.

And, if it doesn't fit exactly, you might be able to adapt it. If the change is due to an end fitting being different, you might be able to take it off your old cable OR get the upgraded adjacent part to complete the installation.

However, looking at the end swivel connectors for both year models...items 1 and 3 in both links attached, those have not changed.



So, it is my opinion but JUST my opinion, that the new part number will work. I hope I'm right.
