my 04 Honda 150 sometimes wont start, its not getting power to the solenoid from the ignition wire, I tested the ignition switch and when I hit the key it has power at the switch but isn't getting power to the small terminal on the solenoid, I traced the wire from ignition switch to a green plug at the motor and I have power there sometimes, has anybody else had this problem, is it just a corroded plug maybe?

probably bad wire see if you can run a temporary wire to your connections those wires tend to get black and brittle around water over yrs i replaced the # 8 wire that runs from the positive side on the battery with marine boat wire from ebay 20 ft about 25 bucks you probably have a break somewhere!

well I took the plug apart and cleaned it and its starting now, if it was a break it wouldn't start at all, but its intermittent which makes me think bad connection somewhere

but sometimes it wont get power to the plug, ill see If cleaning it makes a difference. theres always power leaving the igniton switch so it must be something in that green connector for it to fire up intermittently

It is more than likely you neutral switch, not necessarily faulty but a sticky shift cable will cause it not to be in the correct neutral position.Next time it won't start try shifting backwards and forwards slightly . It could also just need a fine finer cable adjustment

Ya that's what I'm looking into now, is it just the one in the front of the motor? How could I test it to see if it's working properly, it looks like its pushing it in when I go to neutral but maybe not enough sometimes?

Try pushing it in manually and see if it starts. It should be closed circuit when pushed in and open when released. Some times it remains open circuit if the sector is not perfectly in the neutral position, either incorrectly adjusted cable or stiff cable not shifting freely.

Ok sounds good I will sometimes it starts then other times it's dead I eliminated the solenoid starter and ignition so it must be this, where do I adjust the cable from?

It can also be your main relay, as I said previously, easiest way to diagnose neural adjustment is when it will not start, shake the gearshift backwards and forwards while holding the key in the start position, if it then starts it is just an adjustment issue, if not then it may be the main relay to look into next
