I have a 03' 200 hp ficht - new install. running, idling at 650. I have no smoke. I primed oil line till I saw the inline oil filter fill, and pumped a few more times. Starts right up, idled for 5 minutes, but other than the first start (it was winterized) ive seen no smoke. Is this normal?
Thx.

Time to see a shop ( if you can find one ) to put the lube system on a lap top.----Put it through a commissioning cycle.----And no you can not add oil to the gasoline on this motor.

So when in doubt, read the manul and 10 other posts. I pinched the return line before the regulator and when I started, got a small puff of smoke. not much after that. My lines are not the clear type. Software is on its way. Can I take the lines of the injector to see if I have oil flow? Wil that damage anything? Thx.

West marine oil, brand new. I got smoke! smokes at startup, and when I accelerate, and when running - a little. Didnt really see it till I ran it while it was dark with flashlight, then I could see it. Definitley didnt smoke until I put vice clamp on the return line just before the inline regulator and ran it for about 15 seconds. Think I'm good to go. Thx everyone!

I don't have a FICHT outboard, but I do have a Polaris Jet Ski that uses FICHT technology. I NEVER see smoke coming out of this engine. Water vapor in the exhaust for sure, but never smoke. That was the whole point of DFI to eliminate excess carbon emissions.

Polaris, used the old ficht, injectors. I've seen 2 Polaris blown so far this year, and 2 gen2. With
BRP's evinrude's trashed at 30-50 hrs.
