I have been chasing my tail on this one. About a month ago my motor developed a miss coming up on plane, one or 2 hick ups then it was fine. Then it got a little worse, squezzed the primer ball a couple of times and it got better. I changed the separator and all the lines from it to the motor, also a new primer ball. The problems persisted. Tried an external tank, no differece. Enter the new 500.00 fuel pump. That didn't fix it. Noticed a leak in the top of the primer solinoid, changed that, still ran the same. If anything the problem was getting worse. Went through the carbs to eliminate the rest of the fuel system, nothing. I talked to a few people that suggested as fast as it was cutting in and out that it would be ignition, so I guess squeezing the primer ball was just coincidence.
Ignition time. All coils are within spec, all plug wires ohm as they should. I tried a power pack off a friend's parts motor, no change. When i changed the power pack I noticed that the stator was leaking and my tach had been off so I changed the stator and rectifier. Still missing.
I do have one plug that stays wet, top one on the port side. The rest look good. I've checked that cylinder while it was idling and it's getting spark.
I'm stumped. My next thought was to run it and test each cylinder with a timing light.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
