200 johnson won't idle

I have a 1998 johnson carbureted 200hp outboard that will not idle below 1200 rpm. I have reset timing, cleaned carbs synchronized linkage, replacd vro pump. When it dies seems like it's out of gas, but sometimes starts right back up. Other times youhave to crank it excessively. Have crankcase pressure to vro pump. I have runout of ideas. Compression is 100 lbs on all six cyl. Spark is always there. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

How , why was timing reset ?---Timing does not normally go out of adjustment.-------Float bowls are know to warp.----Test run with a portable tank and hose.-----There may be issues with one or more crankcase / crankshaft sealing rings.----Possibly a reed valve problem.

Was adjustment done in water or on hose???

does it have quick start? if so when it goes I think it idles high.
