200 HP over heats

Engine overheated when I ran it off the hose. So installed an impeller kit.

pressure went to 15lbs then 0 no water to very little water out of pee hole

The engine overheated. I removed and checked the thermostats they open and close.

I ran the engine without the stats again the alarm wwent off and it didn't pee

I just pulled the impeller out and it is has black goo it spots on the casing even though

I never started the engine without water.

I believe the water is not circulating through the engine. I can see up the water tube

to where it bends to go to the engine.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Are you using rectangular muffs? If yes chuck em in the trash and get a cheap pair of round ones. Put a new pump in and drop the boat in the water to test.

Are you taping up any additional water intakes? Sometimes the muffs don't cover them all (some are kind of hidden) and, if not taped properly, you will suck air and instantly ruin your water pump. That's why I ONLY do driveway checks in a trash can.

I think Chris is right. Today I pulled the hose on the thermostat and put water through the engine. No blockage as I assumed

So itmust be the rectangular muffs

This must be due to constant use of it. The heat has generated more. You must buy from a good shop and take warranty. They will do free service if anything happen in between warranty period.
