2 stroke oil injection problem

Hey guys I need some help, I have a 2004, 50hp, 2 stroke, Mercury Tracker. 2 Stroke Oil is leaking into the cylinders when the engine is not running. The oil tank sits under the engine cover, in front. Checked and changed vent valve in tank. Also changed brass check valve in line from oil pump to mixer. Can someone tell me whats going on with this? Thanks, SMC

Pull the oil pump as I have seen the rear seal pop loose and will fill lower cylinder with oil. It it all 3 cylinders look for a tank pressurzation problem as this will force oil thru fuel pump and fill carbs with oil.....

Thanks faztbullet, My mechanical experience is limited, I've never taken a 2 stroke oil pump off. Do you know any "tricks' or 'bewares' I should exercise. I do have access to a parts diagram but no repair diagrams. Thanks again, SMC

Just pinch off and remove oil lines , couple of bolts and pull pump straight out. If seal is popped you can push it back into place and take a punch and "stake" it into place.

Yep, and oil leaking to the floor. My 1998 60 Bigfoot did @868 hours. I had to pull the powerhead out to gain access to the oil pump. Pump was $335 I just couldn't go 50-1 premix. I took her out of the box on 5/98 and rigged her on the flats boat and she's never left me stranded not once! It's not a bad job, just make sure you bleed the air out of the pump per the factory manual and run for 20 minutes on pre-mix

If u cap off oil pump , make sure u take shaft out of pump , with no lube or will freeze up motor , because it runs off cam shaft. 1999 mercury 60hp, great motor
If u cap off oil pump, make sure u take shaft out of pump, with no oil coming in shaft will freeze up, runes off cam shaft. Good luck!
