1999 BF130 IAC gaskets?

Was planning to remove the IAC and clean it but having a delay in getting a gasket. From what I see, it looks like a double o ring? So is it reusable?

There is also a filter, looks stainless so likely reusable once cleaned?

Yep, the seal looks like one you could reuse and the filter is probably cleanable but at $17 + shipping for both why not get new and save the old stuff for your spares box?
Just sayin'

I agree but being in Canada, it may take several weeks to get the parts and one is currently not available. I checked with the local dealer.

Cross border shipping can be painful and I was considering proceeding without replacement parts and wondered if that was viable.

Yes, I see now what you were getting at. I do think you could "get away" with trying to reuse those items.

The filter should be cleaned as well as the ports in the IAC. The special o-ring can be reused as long as it has some protrusion to create the seal. If not you can clean & apply a "thin" smear of gasket maker to both sides of the o-ring & refit.

Just a precaution about cleaning the IAC: Most of them can be sensitive to having the plunger/piston artificially moved when cleaning so keep that in mind and be gentle.

I've seen you recommend the Hylomar Blue before. Looked it up and it's available on Amazon. This is something I would have really been happy to have when I was working in a diesel shop every day!

Does it have a decent shelf life?

Do you happen to know if it's "sensor safe"? Meaning that it doesn't off gas acetic acid fumes (vinegar smell) as it cures. I didn't see that listed in the presentations I looked at but I will keep looking.

Pretty much doesn’t smell, it’s about the consistency of toothpaste then stiffens up but never hardens. I use it on my cork valve cover gaskets on the valve covers, seals well and the covers come off and on without a problem. BRP/Evinrude supplied a small quantity with a part I got, lots of OEM’s use it in their own packaging. Shelf life- I’ve had it 10+ years and it never hardens in the tube.
BRP called it Triple-Guard Grease part # 303719 was 0.37 oz, just used some on the IAC.

I couldn’t get the screen out, stuck hard, tried pliers and prying gently, thought it would have been damaged if I tried harder. I sprayed it with brake cleaner then blew it out with air and put it back on. Very easy job, will replace screen and do again when I get the part. The rubber double o ring was in good shape.
