Hi everyone. I am struggling to remove the lower unit to change my impeller. I am stuck at the point of trying to separate the shift rod connector. I have watched every YouTube video I can find and see how it is done but on my motor I cannot find the connector. Every video, every forum I read, even the repair manual all say there is access to the connector a few inches above the lower unit but I do not see it anywhere. I have done this on other motors several times so I get the concept, I just can't find my connector.
There are two locations where I can see the rod and have less than an inch of access to it but no coupler or connector nuts in sight. I have shifted it in and out of gear to move the rod in each direction to see if it was higher or lower on the rod.
Has anyone else run into this issue?
