oil driver

Hey! I don't know this motor.( 98 115 Ficht). I see three tubes for fluids. Gas, oil, and ? It came with a harness+ controls for a dual setup. I am not sure if it runs, though the last owner said it did. I would like to attempt starting it. I intend to connect the harness+earmuffs, mix some fresh gas and oil and give it a shot. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!;)

When in doubt, always mix oil 50:1 with fuel, even if it has an oil injection system. Also put oil in the oil injection system. Until you are certain that the oil injection system really works, keep mixing oil with the fuel as well. Get an original service manual on Ebay for it before you start to fiddle with it.

Stop-----If this is a FICHT motor you do not mix gas with the oil.-----It will not protect the motor as you might think !!-------One hose likely is a return line to the oil tank.--------Hurry and get a manual or some help !

Yes, it is a ficht, and while I am itching to start it, your advice is of course the only sensible thing to do. A return to the oil tank also sounds right. The previous owner had it nicely stored on a stand in his garage after his mechanic pulled it from his 26' Grady. Apparently the counter rotating engine was sold and he was running with this one. He claimed that it planed off the boat. He replaced it with a single 250 Yamaha. He attempted to start it on his own, in the garage, though he couldn't get it to crank. I think the emergency cutoff switch was the problem. The engine turns by hand, so I will hook it up just to do a compression test. If that goes well, I'll break out the piggy bank for that manual. If this motor runs well, then I stole it for $500. Thank you for the help.

I picked one up at a shop for $100.-----Shop not interested in working on it and wanted to clear it out !------These are not popular on the hit parade.--------Few will work on them.-----Parts are expensive.-----Factory support is dwindling fast.

No I did not even bother or try.----Picked it up for the lower unit and parts that fit conventional motors.------Sorry,-----I think you need to read up on how this motor works.-----How it is " DIRECT INJECTED " and not a conventional 2 stroke !-----Get help from a shop if you can find one that will help you.-------Lucky you if you can get it started and keep it running at home.

Can ya get yer money back???? This is not a DIY repair engine. Special steps to prime everything prior to restart!!!! No BRP support and parts are getting nil and expensive
