Having some trouble with a new to me Mariner.
First time on the water it lost power and started making a knocking noise that sounded like it was coming from the flywheel.
Got it home, started diagnosing fouled plugs and what not and during the process of running some injector cleaner through it I found the metal pieces in the attached pic out in the motor wash.
Does anyone know what this could have came from? Its very beat up and rattled, Ive got to imagine this is what my knocking noise was.
The flywheel isn't turning anymore and it stopped cranking. Wondering what sort of trouble I've gotten myself into. The metal is very light, maybe aluminum or zinc.
