Hello I have a baby size hole on one side of my lower unit underneath the spot that sucks the water in. It’s only on one side of the motor/lower unit is this post to be there? If so what does it do?

Picture needed.----Likely a drain to to keep stuff from freezing.-----Which part of the baby are you referring to ?---Front or back ?
