I've got a 1991 Procraft with a 115hp Mercury that I just bought a couple of weeks ago. The first time I took it out on the water it started right up. As soon as I would put it in gear, the motor would shut down. Would start right back up and do the same thing everytime I put into gear. Decided to trim the motor to where the prop was half way out of the water. Started right up. Put in gear and the boat started to pull. As I throttled forward I trimmed the motor down and the motor ran like a champ. After sitting for 5-10 mins I would have to repeat the process to get moving again.
The owner said he had no issues.....Carbs were rebuilt a few months back and new plugs. Any idea's what could be going on????
