1987 cobra need help

Hello everyone

I bought a 1987 cobra last year and running ok. Stored it for the winter and took it out in June. Wonted start points were closed and that was fixed. Took it out and hit a log. Property was bent no problem. Now it is really rough running. Noticed that the air filter was caked with black stuff. Took it off and care had the same stuff so took care off and cleaned it. Also when trying to turn over there is a high pitched sound at the back of the boat. It does start and then starts to bog and stop. Can some one help

Hello I think the bellows are gone exhaust is coming out of between the upper and lower units. Is that a big job to do.

Thanks. Any commit on the other problems. I cleaned the air fiilter and with in one dfay on the water the air filter was full of black sluged and the carb as well I cleaned them both put back together and now its starts but then bogs down and stalls. Plus when turniing over there is like a winding noise at the back. Tyhanks inadvance

Ayuh,.... Sounds like rusty pulleys turnin' yer belts to dust,....

Clean 'n paint the pulleys...

Pull the starter, 'n see how rusted up it is,... probably the whinin' noises...
