1986 175 black max- jumps when I give throttle.

it will do the same thing. been fighting this for. a while. I thi k I figured it out. I think I have figured it out. I have to mix my oil, they remove the auto mixture. I have been making it 50:1. I notice with new spark plugs it goes away, however it doesn't take long for my plugs to foul out. I idol allot, any suggestion on what ratio to mix the oil? Or should I change plugs? I am going to try j plugs, supposley they work better at idol?

50:1 is the oil mix.---are the thermostats in place and working ?----Poppit valve in place ?----------Do not change the oil ratio based on assumptions or what your buddy suggests !!

how do.i know which it is thermostat or poppit valve?

from what I read there are 3 thermostat for each head? I can't seem to find the parts. help please. 1986 175 black max model 1175726. help on getting right parts please

You got a bad switchbox/stator as it only running on one bank, when you speed it up the high speed side is taking over and then that bank kicks in.

if it was the switchbox/stator would this go away with new plugs? seems like if bad switchbox/stator then it wouldn't get better. new plugs resolved the issue until the plugs fouled.

what should I do first? thermostat? switchbox/stator? poppit valve?

decided to go ahead and replace thermostats. of course 1 bolt broke. still fighting it. good news is both thermostats are corroded bad. so probably not working properly.

question is thermostats causing fouled plugs or stator?

switch box easy to.replace? I know stator isnt..

and where is the switch box located. I don't have a timing light and not sure how to use one. past my ability. right now I just hope I get those broken bolt out.
