1984 35 hp not drawing fuel

I've got an 84 Johnson 35hp that seems not to want to pick up fuel. The fuel pump is pumping, the bowl is full, and the bulb stays hard. I put a complete overhaul kit in the carb including welch plugs. It has 121 & 122 psi compression. The float jet is not stopped up. I can feel a vacuum on the carb when i cover with my hand and it pulls gas thru then. It ran fine last year, after going thru the carb and replacing the reeds (1 was cracked). I'm racking my brain on this one....any ideas?

Idk, maybe fuel filter is the problem?

pick up fuel from carb or tank??? A better description of problem will help...

The carb bowl is full. It's not pulling fuel from the carb

It behind the carb...since you did reed work I would look at gaskets leaking or reed/s installation.

But the reeds are still fine. It ran great end of summer last year. I got vacuum and this carb is clean
