1980 Mercury 18HP 2 stroke

I received this motor in not so good shape, and I have read that some of these 80's 18 & 25 HP units have some in common parts. Anyone here know where that information might be cataloged or can tell me more about that? Thanks for any help.

Same motor ..just bigger carb and timing adjustments..carbs is NLA

So the power head is the same parts? Minus the carb...?

The tuner below the PH is also different. All replacement blocks are 25 hp, so I assume the block (and timing) are similar. The carb bore is tiny compared to the 25 hp.
