1979 v200 mercury

Engine struggles to take off but once going it runs well. New fuel pump, plugs not to mention a rebuild about 5yrs. Ago. I keep a close eye on everything but its just not ever been good on takeoff. I've heard maybe switchboxes could be to blame??

We usually start with a compression test, Second a open air gap spark test, followed with fuel diagnostics.

Pretty sure its not fuel related. I've rebuilt fuel pump. Engine idle is perfect and so is starting. Never is there a issue with running. Just how it accelerates. Out of gear it does great very quick and responsive to throttle. Also did confirm timing adjustments are correct. Explain your open air spark test. Thanks Israel

Open the idle mixture screws another 1/4 turn OUT (CCW). That has cured many a similar problem.

It don't have mixture screws!!! Back the roller off the throttle to about a 1/8 and retest.

Thanks did come to realize no adjustments on idle mixture unless a jet changes. Still searching
