1979 mercury v6 175 hp

Hi everyone trying to get some info on this motor.
All input is appreciated. 1) are they good motors? 2) will it push a 20 foot Bass boat faster than 35mph

1) In their day...its 38years old. 2) Depends on what shape its in...if tired it will have poor holeshot and reduced top end. If your thinking of purchasing I would pass....

Thanks faztbullet for your input appreciate it. Motor is in good shape starts right up idles fine. Accelerates well with little throttle. Freswater only. Thanks for the buyer beware caution. However I already own it. What would u estimate the mph on a 20ft tunnel hull eliminator bass boat with jack plate if indeed it's not tired?

Depending on prop pitch and step up around 45-55MPH as this motor is only about 150HP at prop...
