1979 mercruiser outdrive shift cable replacement

I am going to replace the lower shift cable on this outdrive. The ser# on the gimbel hsg. is 5381874, the # on the drive shaft hsg. is 5399562. What all do I have to disassemble to replace the cable? This is on a 1979 glasply cruiser with a v8 chevy 228. Thanks.

You will need to remove drive,gimbal helmet,u-joint and exhaust bellows. It is better to get a complete bellows kit and replace them all while its apart. Also update and install the new no-cut cable.
