On a whim I bought an old speed boat with a 1978 Mercery tower of power 115 outboard.
The motor was running fine until all the wires connected to the positive battery terminal fell off. I unwittingly reconnected the wires without turning the key off and I must have fried something. The boat will crank over but not start. There is no spark at all. Can anyone give me some step by step procedures as to trace down the problem.
Coil? Trigger? Switch box? Whatever else? I am in (Gray Maine) is there anyone on this forum from my area? Anyone have a link to an online manual? So far I have spend $2500 on this little boat and have not had one trouble free ride.
