So I'm looking for some direction. I just acquired an old Honda B75 outboard. It's in excellent condition. I need to replace the impeller and couldn't find parts for this model. I decided to try the one from the next generation of this model the BF75 which is readily available. If it works I'll report here to begin compiling a list of substitute parts for this outboard.
I have a couple of questions to throw out.
1. Does anybody know of a thread like this already started for B75's?
2. Does anyone have any experience to add to this topic? I came across a similar question posted elsewhere where someone found that the carburetor from the BF75 doesn't work on the B76 because it's mount is vertical instead of horizontal.
My hope is that there is a way to keep this model from becoming obsolete. Thanks in advance for any help!
P.S. I'm already wondering about possible substitutes/ mods for thermostat and ignition coil.
