1973 OMC 50hp

i have recently received two 1973 outboards from my father. One of his customers offered them to him and being the collector he is, he accepted. They did not come with the controls. They seem to be in good condition, between the two of them their is one complete motor. They seem to be only missing minor parts.
i have no use for these motors, but id like to get at least one running so i can get more resale value.

My question, How can i get the motor to run without controls?
the plug under the cowl is in place

Your best bet would be to just get rid of them the way they are. You'll probably be money ahead. JMO

You can run it with out the controls. Just jump the starter if there is no ignition switch. to cut it off the 2 black wires on the plug (on the part that goes to the controls) need to touch

Thanks for the replies. I took Bobs advice and sold them on craigslist.
