Hi everyone, I just recently received a 1971 Johnson 60hp engine that came with a boat. When the key is turned to the on position I here a sporadic and random clicking sound coming from the coil and starter solenoid area on the back right side of the engine. The battery connected was dead and I was using jumper cables connected to the battery if that can cause anything. The motor was winterized and put away running so I assume it’s some little non-issue. Most of the electrical system (for spark) was replaced. Could it be due to the engine not getting enough power?
the motor still cranks over and I have spark in all cylinders and it ran a year ago
