175HP black max stator faulty

Hi, my 1979 blackmax has a bad stator I believe. The service manual indicates a max of 6,2k reading between red and blue, but i get intermittent readings that are higher. sometimes more than 100k. The red and white to blue and white reading is a steady 6,2k. I read that it is advisable to buy parts here but I live in South Africa and the parts source on this forum does not export right? Just as a matter of interest, what do they cost? 398-5454A6 is stamped on the stator. Is there a way of ordering from this site and having them sent via courier? Does anything else fail when a stator goes bad?
 
Forget ohms readings as they are a baseline, get a DVA adapter or build one and test the actual voltage from stator ....
 
Thanks but are you sure? I mean I get like 100k and sometimes 200k. That's 30 times what the service manual specifies. And the red/white to blue/white reading is constant at 6.2k which agrees with the manual. So this one winding really seems to have an intermittent value, and when I posted a thread about my intermittent problems, someone stated that the stator among only two other items could be the cause.
 
do a google on the part number 398-5454a6...then check with the vendors via email to see if they will ship...the price should be under 200 bucks us dollars for that stator...either fix the ohm reading(may be an external wire that you can fix but i doubt it) or replace the stator....
