175 Black Max - trim tilt question

Hi, I have a 1989 Mercury black max and I have some questions please:
1) What is the pushbutton type thing under the plastic cap? See picture.

2) What is the screw in the middle for?
3) Is the little lever type screw on the left the manual release?

4) What are the buttons at the top left and right for on my control box in pic on the left above?
5) In the middle pic above, what is this little plug on the side of the control box for?
6) The pic on the right shows my trim unit.

First thats not a 1989 year motor, more like a 1976-1978....

Reverse lock solenoid....

2) What is the screw in the middle for?

What screw???

3) Is the little lever type screw on the left the manual release?

Manual release.....

4) What are the buttons at the top left and right for on my control box in pic on the left above?

Trailer trim (left) and choke (right)

5) In the middle pic above, what is this little plug on the side of the control box for?

Tach and accessories harness

6) The pic on the right shows my trim unit.

Dead give away for the 2 ram trim, originally the lower mounting bolts where hollow and this is where trim lines attached....
