150 hp fast strike cuts off when key isreleased

Hey guy’s, got one I can’t seem to find the problem with.
starts up fine but as soon as the ignition switch is released to the run position it cuts off, disconnected the harness to remote
and cranked it up with remote starter switch, as long as remote switch is pressed it stays running.
disconnected shifter interrupter, blk/yellow wires still the same. any ideas...

Bad ignition switch or wiring screwed up.

Model # of this motor ?---Those use the optical ignition I believe.-----Possibly a bad stator power coil.----Have a shop test the stator.------Or possibly a bad powerpack.----

As Racer stated powercoil on stator(org wires) or powerpack

Hey racerone, I swapped p/packs and it’s got a fairly new stator, not saying it’s not bad, yes it’s optical. I’ll get the model # shortly.
‘I disconnected the red harness connection to take the switch out of the circuit . No change.

Test the power coil(2 org wire) to see if good..this supply's power to pack/eye for motor to operate

Hey guys thanks for the help, I found the problem, it was the stator, never thought that was the problem.
so if anyone else has that problem maybe this will help.
