150 1985 black max power trim?

Does anyone know if this power trim unit (1996 MERCURY OUTBOARD MOTOR
V-135 / 135 HP V6 1996 = 0G424242) will fit a 1985 150 hp black max 1985?

855998A10 is the PN for the 96 power trim unit. Match it to the 86.

They used 2 kinds of T/T units on that year.You need to post pics of the new one.Pics??
Or go to boats .net and look up the new part # and see what matches.J

The 1984-91 trim is a side fill thru bracket and 3 wire/solenoid trim motor, the 1992-2010 is a aft fill and is a 2 wire/relay motor. To answer your question ...yes it will fit but you will need to install a 2 wire relay box for electrical to work.
