Not sure if this could be a Mercury issue, but that's the motor I have: 75hp made in 1986.
Everything's running great except this annoying thing: When I'm running at more than 50% power and pull the throttle back toward idle speed, the 12V power interrupts very briefly...long enough for the stereo and depth finder to shut off and then restart. If I "ease" the throttle down gradually, it doesn't happen.
It's annoying because the stereo cuts out for 3 seconds, then comes back on...and the Garmin switches off then comes back with the 'welcome' screen, etc. Not only should this cut-off not happen, it can't be great for those components to power cycle like that.
The stereo and Garmin are both wired to a fuse block and negative bus and no connections are loose.
Any ideas?
