    What is the setting for the tachometer on a 2016 Honda 50hp d Avalon pontoon boat which is 3 cly. I think my tach is bad it only shows 1500 rpm at WOT. I switched from 6p to 4p and now WOT is 2500 rpm. At 6p idle is 400/500 rpm.

    I had a similar problem no power and found from this forum someone hooked by battery cables up wrong. It didn't blow any fuses, relays or charging system. I hooked the cables up correctly and all works fine now.

    I started using a meter. I could be wrong but to me the boat is USA made with positive being fused and mated with a Japanese motor which fuses and switches the negative side. Do you take it that way.

    Okay I've checked the power at the bl/w wire which is a negative 12.76 volts. This is what I think is funny that this boat will key switch the negative but in the helm all the fuses are positive and the fuse on the motor are negative.

    I need to mention how this came about. Boat sat for a few weeks and when I went to use it I trimmed the motor down and it sounded like a lot of arcing and it went down slow before everything quit.

    The wires are isolated now but the bl/w wire is not easy to contact. The bl/w wire goes to the green plug but I haven't been able to disconnect it yet.

    I don't have power anywhere to the dash or trim. I check the fuse box with all fuses testing good. This is with the battery load tested good and positive breaker jumped. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim
