2016 Honda 50hp d tachometer setting

What is the setting for the tachometer on a 2016 Honda 50hp d Avalon pontoon boat which is 3 cly. I think my tach is bad it only shows 1500 rpm at WOT. I switched from 6p to 4p and now WOT is 2500 rpm. At 6p idle is 400/500 rpm.

Thanks Esa, the instructions say the tach needs to be set on 3p. It was set on 6p and it would max out WOT at 1500rpm, then I put it on 4p thinking I read it somewhere and it maxed out at 2500rpm. So I put it on 3p and now it max out at 3000rpm. It's getting closer to the 5500rpm max. It does seem to run good but it needs to be trimmed down just about all the way. I think the motor sits up too high for that boat and tunnel.
