    Instead of denting the brass mounting ring I sanded the surfaces to bring it back nice and tight.. first I stuck some 220 paper on the ring and sanded the shoulder down on the ignition plate to the same thickness as the brass ring then sanded the shoulder to fit the brass ring.. Nice...

    Took the old one out and it looks to be very brittle not sure what it made of but it was in pieces... can the new one be installed without splitting the case? Can I tap it in with a seal tool.. I don't want to break it...

    1956 10hp looks good but the last time I started the motor in my barrel it ran for some time and no water out the exhaust seemed wrong to me.. is there a grommet somewhere or gasket that is know to fail .. this pump looks like it should still pump.. the rubber in the med section seemed snug...

    Wrong seals again!!!

    I even gave him the dimensions.. ID is 1.120+ - the seal I keep getting is 1.255 Maybe I'll machine the hole out to fit the seal I got.. getting old trying to get a seal for this.. everyone tells me they now all about it but no one has yet come up with the right seal..

    bought a 1961 10hp seized up good.. so I cut the flywheel up to make a jig.. smaller flywheel on the outside but it fits and all the markings line up... should make it a lot easier to time now..

    ok.. well, I thought I had the right seal kit ordered for the gear case but I guess not.. can anyone tell me what year this case is.. the output shaft where it seals is .670 in diameter the output seal race in the case measures 1.117.. so thinking a 1.125OD seal.. the input shaft is .500 in...
