    Detecting water leak

    Is there any solution that can be pumped through cooling system of 3.0 mercruiser that will assist with detecting leak? Also is there any places to check first in regards to a slow leak during operation?

    where to look

    okay vI got my 3.0 running for the first time in 7 years and running well! one issue< when i took it out on the water to test the lower unit, water was slowly leaking in from somwhere? all other vitals were great! where to look?

    Seafoam?

    has anyone had any luck with using this in order to clean the carb? I have a 3.0 that I just got started but it sat with old fuel for 7 years and its not getting fuel and not able to idle but will run when hooked up to muffs and rev'd to about 2500 rpms.

    Im so Close but Yet so FAR away

    OK I finally got my motor to start up and it revs but will not idle, I have concluded the problem lies within the carb. It is getting fuel from the pump which is new high octane fuel with all new filters. What are my options to work this out, this boat sat for 7 years so Im sure its gunked up...

    Starting motor

    Just because I have no experiences in doing so I will ask here. When attempting to start a motor out of water what precautions should be taken? Im aware that water should be ran using the earmuffs(?), does the lower unit need to be lowered from the trailered position or anything else?

    I would appreciate if someone could post on here the correct wiring of a 3.0 starter(possibly) a photo. As well as the correct plug wiring from distibutor to plugs. Thank You, Cant find it in the manual I have.

    Need Anyone's Help! 1998 175

    okay I am hoping I can get this running since I got it for FREE! What I have is a 98 sea ray 175 bowrider, 3.0. The reason why I got it is because it was not winterized properly and cracked the waterjacket and has sat for 5 years. The boat looks brandnew, as well as the motor. Heres what I have...
