I would appreciate if someone could post on here the correct wiring of a 3.0 starter(possibly) a photo. As well as the correct plug wiring from distibutor to plugs. Thank You, Cant find it in the manual I have.

I have this in the manual, I have the merc manual but I have the positive cable from the battery and another power cable, as well as an Orange one?with the red and yellow hooked up to the smaller bolt.

on the main lug of the solenoid should be the battery cable , a red wire(system power), Alt feed, orange(may be connected to a square plastic looking bloc) and
yellow/red to the small lug closest to the engine block.

I cannot locate a "large looking plastic block" for the orange cable, what exactly is that for?

the feed from the alt. an orange wire that connects to the main lug. sometimes thru the square fuse block

excellent,got it! Thanks for all the help so far, this is my first time taking on a task such as this! I just changed out the rotor, distributor cap and fuel filters. Going to empty and clean the gas tank and try to get her running! DO you have anymore advice for anything to look at before I try it, or anything I should do in regards to lowering trim, earmuffs..etc?
