    Water in gearcase oil but gearcase holds pressure

    Hi, I found traces of water in my new gearcase oil, so I tested the pressure holding capability of the lower unit. No leaks whatsoever. Only if I shift gears, a bit of pressure escapes when the shiftrod moves. Is that the likely culprit?

    Should I use gasket sealer for carb gaskets?

    I want to give my 15 hp carb new gaskets and I'm wondering whether I should put the OMC gasket sealing compound on the fiber gaskets or not? It says resistent to fuel but I don't want it gumming up the carb.
