    Mercury carburetors

    I have a 1988 135 mercury.I have been told that the only difference between the 135 and the 150 is the carburetors.Is this correct?( larger venturis) If this is correct .How do I make sure when buying a different set of carbs that I am buying 150 carbs and not another set of 135s?

    Max RPM 3500 1988 135 hp

    I just took my 1988 mercury 135 to the repair shop because it would not idle.The shop installed a new stator.Voltage does go to 16 volts at wide open throttle and the battery is new. It idles good now but rpms wont go past 3500 when pushing the boat.In neutral it revs fine. It had no rpm problem...
