It has 119 on both cylinders. The plugs should be changed. Also do the plug wires come from the corresponding coils upper coil to no. 1 cylinder? There is no metal band on the upper wire Is there an easy way to test the fuel pump for a bad diaphragm?

I'm wondering why the number one cylinder spark plug is wet and the bottom plug is dry after running in a barrel for 15 min? Trying to get this motor dialed in. Hard to start when its been sitting awhile.
Should I run it out of fuel if its going to sit a few days? Thanks for your help.
I'm Trying to lync and sync this engine would like advice on where to set the cam follower on the cam in low idle. The cam has 2 bars parallel about 1/4 in apart. does the follower set between the bars at Idle? right now mine is sitting behind them. Also is there a starting point for the set...
Racerone you were right. Sprayed a little kroil on the gasket after I trimmed it (it still had paint on it) chiseled around with a five in one tool started prying and it came.
I started on the thermostat on my 9.5 Johnson today. The housing bolts came off easily but the housing itself is pretty fast. This outboard has seen very little use. Everything seems original.
Any advice on removing the housing without damaging it?
