    Prop for Grady 192 Tournament?

That is exactly my 130 1999. On the heavier 19' GW it did ~32mph WOT. Wish I'd known about the accord head. I might have been tempted to fix it. But I lucked out (so far) with a 2009 150 from Palm Beach Outboards off ebay. LMK if you need 130 parts. I stripped most off, incl the lower unit.

    Prop for Grady 192 Tournament?

OK--Sounds like it could be up a bit too high. The 130 and 150 weights are about the same. The 130 didn't have trim sensitivity. Just ran like a champ. (Til the head corroded around the gasket - got water in 2&3 cylinders; Honda didn't even have the gasket anymore in stock).

    Prop for Grady 192 Tournament?

Thanks! I found a 14.25x17 Honda prop on ebay and tried it. As HonDan mentioned I could feel a significant difference at idle. The old big 15x19 prop was pushing a lot of water at idle. Hard to go slow. This smaller one felt 'normal'. Now it runs at 32kts GPS and 6200RPM WOT. So problem...

    Prop for Grady 192 Tournament?

Hi-I've got a 2000 Grady White 192 Tournament. Just replaced the old Honda 130 with a 2009 Honda 150. Runs great (now, after fixing shift problems), but on the water I'm only getting 30kt (35 mph) and 5000 rpm WOT (supposed to be 5k-6k). I'm using a stainless Honda 15"x19 prop. Engine sounds...

Honda BF 150 2009 SHIFT into Reverse Problem

That would be great! Anyone have any experience on a BF150 realigning the shift shafts by removing that cog #20? Appreciate this. Fingers crossed.

Shift shaft and power head problem

Hi -- I have the exact same motor and problem. Did you ever figure out what the issue was? My washer and E keeper 36/52 were bent slightly, letting the gears 18 and 12 come un-meshed. (I carefully removed the e-keeper and unbent and reinstalled, which helped, but didn't cure the problem). I...

Honda BF 150 2009 SHIFT into Reverse Problem

Back to the drawing board-SHIFT PROBLEM STILL BF150-I ran the boat in the water, and now the shifter gets held up in forward and neutral (not able to shift into reverse) w engine running - shifting from engine with the controller detached. I think pressure on the gears or shift shaft while...

Honda BF 150 2009 SHIFT into Reverse Problem

Thank you JMGO and BobMech you were exactly right. Original problem: Previous installer didn't have the flat spot on the lower unit pointing forward. THEN at some point, somehow must have used raw pliers to twist the shifter, mushing the little splines ever so slightly. Result: This, in turn...

Honda BF 150 2009 SHIFT into Reverse Problem

Thanks--BTW just now, the guy I bought it from texted that it's possible one of his mechanics would have reinstalled the lower unit with the shift shaft misaligned. Says its a 30 min job to drop and realign. But if that doesn't fix it, then your diagram with the toothed shift sprockets may be...

Honda BF 150 2009 SHIFT into Reverse Problem

My 2009 Honda BF150 (I just installed) starts in gear, and won't shift into reverse. Control shifter works fine when disconnected. It is as if the engine indexing is 'off'. When you shift by hand (from the motor, w/o controller connected), and put it in neutral, the neutral switch engages, and...

    Honda BF150 2009 on a Honda 2000 controller...will it work?

Thanks...Figured it out today: You CAN use an older 2000 Honda controller with a 2009 Honda BF150. The differences are minor: 1) The 2009 engine has a separate (smaller) positive battery cable running to the main relays. This 3rd battery cable is apparently because taking power from the starter...

    Honda BF150 2009 on a Honda 2000 controller...will it work?

Hi--the old motor is a Honda 130 (BZBE from 1999), the 'new' is Honda BF150a (BAPJ from 2009). Yes, the main engine harness clicked right in place. Only the 3-wire old warning lite harness isn't matching up to the 6-wire new (and I jumped those to test). And that presumably wouldn't be...

    Honda BF150 2009 on a Honda 2000 controller...will it work?

Thanks--that's what I'd hoped. BTW--I did push the 'old' 3 wires into the corresponding 'new' 6-pin connector. Nothing happened. No solenoid clicks, nothing. No voltage to the 6-pin. Lights on the controller don't come on. I am getting 12v to the engine. Must be missing power to the controller?

    Honda BF150 2009 on a Honda 2000 controller...will it work?

I bought a 2009 Honda BF150a for my 25 year old boat that has a 2000 Honda controller. The 15-pin connector connects, but the old one had a 3-pin (I assume for the temp, oil, etc), New one has a 6-pin connector. When I jump the 3 old wires to the matching new wires, nothing happens. QUESTION...

    2003 Honda BF130 - Bad Compression ?

Have the exact same problem with Honda 130 that is almost 20 years old. cylinders two and three Low compression 160 psi in one and four. 130 and 120 into and three. Runs rough. Interestingly, just like you said, there is corrosion and pushing gasket on the port side of the engine. Plus the...
