    15hp evinrude driveshaft

    will a 15hp 1976 driveshaft fit a 1984 model? i was reading on "this old outboard" that later shafts (post 1977?) had hardened sections for needle bearings but looking at the schematic the parts look pretty much the same. what am i missing or misinterpreting? thanks

    15hp evinrude extension

    i have an evinrude 1984 15hp standard shaft and a 1975 15hp long shaft (5 inch extension). is it possible to fit the extension to the 1984 model? the part numbers seem all different for the equivalent driveshafts etc... and the 1984 extension seems to have an exhaust seal whilst the 1975 does...

    i have a 1975 6504R 6hp evinrude with a damaged prop shaft. i have a spare 1966 6602 with a good prop shaft. i plan on replacing the damaged one with this. all the part numbers for prop shaft, gearcase head appear the same but the 1975 oil retainer seal has an I.D. of 0.554, O.D. 1.062 and...
