The original pump is currently in place. It ran fine for the last 3 yrs that I have had it then it started flooding out at 1200 rpm and would only limp back to dock. I changed the plugs and wires. Then started looking for fuel coming from carbs but nothing. When I primed the system, fuel came out of the top of pump.

Tried to post a picture several times. It won't let me.
Resize your photos to under 1Mb
It can be done right from this site. See the little button at the bottom of where you type, the one that says ATTACH FILES?
When you click on it, you get the option to chose a file from “photo library”, or take a photo.
Once you chose one from the library that is already on your phone, (it will open your entire library), select the one you want. Now, before you do anything else, look at the bottom left corner- it will say OPTIONS.
Choose that & you get choices of LARGE, MED, SMALL. Try one, it will give the new size that will be attached. If it’s less than 1Mb, say 294Kb, then select DONE, then ADd, up at the top right

If you are talking about the round circle that looks like a button in front of air diaphragm housing, there is a vent hole and if fuel is coming from it the diaphragm is damaged or housing cracked in transfer passage

Got it

Yes that is it. It started only running at 1200 rpm and limping. I noticed a lot of oil not being burned off and coming from motor. I got it home and primed the pump and noticed the fuel leak. Thoughts??

I highly suggest you pull carbs and inspect for debris
So, I just went ahead a bought a new fuel pump for it. The new pump came with a 4 prong plug. With purple, tan, black and grey. My old pump was a 3 wire plug. I switched the plug from the old to the new. Put it on and it fired right up. Question is.... Do I need the purple wire

3 wire plug means it's an early VRO. THE later VRO had 4 wires. Hook the purple wire up ,it's an update to make the sensor better.
