Further to my issue of my engine not peeing. Did all the necessary steps to rid the engine of the cause of the blockage. Took the bottom intake screens off and did find a little bit of debris but also what looked like the very tip of the impellers vane. So dropped the bottom end and yes, the impeller was toast…melted, broken. So I removed the t stat housing and t stat and with compressed air blew up the pu tube from below, then blew from the t stat down. I also removed the brass fitting in the pee hole and blew in the hole. Put her all back together…started her, nothing, all to no avail. Then 04:00, laying in bed, I got thinking, my compressor only puts out 160 psi. My pressure washer puts out 3000 psi. So I dropped the bottom end again, and with my pressure washer, blasted from below up the pu tube and out the t stat housing above. It was raining scale and bits of impeller! Blasted from the pee hole on the side of the block and again it was spitting out scale but to a lesser degree, out the t stat housing. I took turns hitting it from the t stat down, from the pu tube below and then the pee hole. Total time was about 4 hrs from tear down to back in the water and pissing like a racehorse!
So I just wanted to fill y’all in, just in case this should happen to someone else out there. Guess the moral of the story is to rinse out your engine at least once every year or two, guess more often if you’re in salt water. Cheers and thanks for all the help.
