Mercury idle air control valve

Hello. I have twin mercury 150 4 stroke.
and the idle air control valve warning came on the vessel view .
I came back in on one motor just to be safe.

what I would like to know is once that warning indicator comes on do I have to turn that motor off immediately ? Or can I still run it to get back to land and if so how many miles or how long can it stay on before any further damage ?
just tryin to find out for the future if that ever happens again so I know what I can and not do.
Thanks

Yes you can leave on
yes we had the same problem on our 2013 150 4stroke mercury. we were out 140 something kilometres from mackay harbour. we came back to the harbour sitting on around 40 to 43 kilometres an hour safely. went to sugar city marine brought a new sensor idle air controller $248.00. motor problem fixed, yes we did come home when the idle problem started by the alarm whistle.
