Can anyone tell me if it is possible to swap the internals from a volvo auto circ pump into the body of a aq125 a one ? We have looked at replacing with volvo penta part and the price is off putting to say the least...

I believe that the auto pump will work. Take a look at the first pump in this link. It should work.

I need a little help with posting new subjects. Can't seem to find a way to post new threads with the new board layout. When I open the "Post New Thread" page it does not allow me to write anything. If I try to open the forum tools link it comes up behind the main page. Need some help here folks. THANKS!!

Automotive pumps will not work on the AQ125A, but they will work on the AQ131 and AQ151. And the only reason they don't work is that they won't mate to the heat exchanger/expansion tank.. If you want to use an automotive pump on your engine, you will have to install in your engine a heat exchanger/expansion tank from an AQ131 or AQ151.

Some time ago we discussed this subject and I recall someone posting that they had managed to press-out the impeller and mechanical seal from an automotive pump and then installed it (the seal) on the marine pump. If you could do that, it may be a solution.

Thanks for the info guys i realise that the whole pump would not fit the engine but wondered if it would be possible to press out the shaft and bearings from a new auto pump and install them in the aq125a pump body as it looks to be in good order.
