just wondering.. I have seen several owners having trouble already getting parts for engines made in the 90's into the 2000's.. stuff like certain sensors, switches, electrical, ignition and gearbox components etc.. Guy were already hearing the word "obsolete" even when Evinrude was still with us.. just wondering about the legions of guys with OMC engines from the last 50 or 60 years that have a dependable OMC 2 stroke they really like and don't particularly want to "upgrade" to a computer controlled 4 stroke...Is it time to just start buying a bunch of junk engines to cannibalize for their parts, or is there enough aftermarket stuff made to keep these very good engines going??.. based on what I have seen myself and on other forums, I have some grave concerns... I can't get anything anywhere else than the internet these days.. Dealers that were OMC for generations, want NOTHING to do with customers they serviced for decades if they are still looking for OMC parts.. Of course, they be happy to sell you a new Zuke, or Merc of course, but your good old 96 Johnny?... Nope... bob
