Yamaha F150 Vibration? Bad Balancer? Something Else?

Twin 2004 Yamaha F150 4 Strokes with 1600 hours. Dont much of the history except for the last 100 hours since I've got them. But they run really good. They start right up, have good compression, idle nice, great power. However, I've noticed the starboard motor has a bit more of a "vibration"...

    VST Drain Screw - BF225

Hey guys, just curious how this drain screw should work. I was doing a little maintenence and decided to crack open the VST drain screw to see what would come out. I loosened it all the way to the point the screw was about to fall out, and there was a little fluid in the clear drain hose, but it...

Honda 225 Lower Unit - Leak?

Hey guys. Motor has been running great. Havent noticed any problems. No bad noises. But when I got done washing the boat after yesterdays trip, I came out and noticed an oily residue seeping from both sides of the lower at this small hole towards the top of the lower unit? Im assuming gear lube...

    Water leaking??

Hey all. With my covers off while repainting i was running the motor (BF225) on the hose and noticed some water seeping out of this area. I've attached a video showing exactly where. The port side does not appear to leak any water from it, assuming there is a gasket there maybe that is leaky...

Clicking / Knocking - Fuel pump?

I've taken my cowling and the plastic side pieces off to sand down and paint. But I decided to fire up the motor on the hose today just to run let it run for a little bit. I heard a constant clicking/knocking noise and it definitely was coming from the port side towards the back of the engine...

    Prop testing

Did some prop testing this week. Boat is a 231 Mako and engine is a 2005 Honda BF 225 Had the engine mounted in 3rd hole from the top and had a 19 pitch 3 blade stainless prop that came with the motor. Barely spun 5100 RPMs at WOT fully trimmed out in calm conditions but did reach 46.6 MPH...

    Thermostats - Impellers etc

2005 Honda BF225. Noticed that my motor does not pump water at idle very well, but does seem to pump well under way. This usually tells me the impeller needs replaced. I have not done this on this new to me Honda, but I figured I would ask a couple questions before I dive into anything. Do the...

    Digital Gauge Question

I have the digital tach and digital speedometer for my new to me 2005 BF225 Honda. I just finished rigging everything up. Everything appears to be "working". The gauge displays come on and the speedometer appears to have every function working correctly (fuel burn, fuel level, battery volt, etc)...

    Flush Port Leak

Noticed today when I fired up my BF225 for the first time that water runs out of where the flush port connector (starboard side) screws up to the plug fitting when not in use. Its basically a constant seep. Is there supposed to be an o-ring or washer on either end of this connection maybe?

    HELP! Rigging Frustrations

Motor is a 2005 Honda BF225. Got everything hooked up. Motor fires up, runs great. Everything seems to be working as it should EXCEPT the digital gauges. I have the digital tach and digital speedo. The very first time I turn the key on the gauges turned on. But then after I wired up the power...

    Fuel Line

Noticed the main fuel line coming from my BF225 is 5/16" and mine coming from fuel tank is 3/8. I know I can use a union and join the two, but did Honda really rig them with that connection stuck inside the rigging tube on the boats they rigged? I don't see enough space to make the connection...

    Discharge from "pee hole"

So I've done some research and hear that a lot of Honda owners complain about the "pee hole" clogging up and though nothing is wrong, it can be a little nauseating not to see the engine discharging water from the "pee hole". Has anyone safely taken a small drill bit and made this exit hole a...

    Honda BF225 Capacity

I ordered a manual for my new to me motor (2005 Honda BF225) - However, I noticed on the Honda Specs guide and the owners manual that they list two different capacity levels for the BF225. The owners manual from 2005 says 8.0 quarts or 8.2 with filter change. The Honda specs guide says 9.0...

    Honda Cowling Adjustment

Is there an adjustment that can be made on the cowling of a 2005 BF 225 ? The front of the cowling seals down tight by the front latch, but in the rear the cowling "clicks" in, but doesnt really seal up tight (it wont ever fly off or lift off) but water certainly could enter and salt etc. I...
