    Ultrasonic cleaner

    Anyone know if it's OK to put a disassembled carb in a ultrasonic cleaner.My friend uses one to clean his scuba regulaters.It seems to get all the grime out of them.Thought it might work well on a carb. Have'nt seen the Tohatsu_Guru on here lately.Anyone know if he's OK? Thanks.

    Winter storage.

    What is the correct way to prepare an outboard motor for winter storage?I have been running the carb dry and fogging the motor.A outboard tech told me to leave the gas,treated with stablizer, in the carb and not fog the motor.Is either one of these correct?Or is there a better way. Thanks.

    MFS 9.8 A3 Fuel Usage

    This engine seems to be useing more fuel than it did last year.Any ideas out there?Engine has 527 hours on it.Never had any work done on it.Other than useing more fuel it starts on 2nd or 3rd pull and runs great.Thinking of checking the valve adjustment if that may help.Is 3V1-01024-0 the...

    Running carb dry.

    I run the carb dry on my MFS9.8A3 after every use.Would it do just as well to pull the plug on the carb and drain the gas out?Ihave issues at the launch ramp i use with people waiting while i run the carb dry. Thank you. Jack.

    Propane conversion.

    Thinking of converting my 9.8 Tohatsu to run on propane.Thinking it will solve the E10 gas problems. Has anyone done this or have any thoughts they would like to share. Thanks.

    Water/Fuel Separator.

    Want to get a fuel/water filter.Been looking at the Unikas-UF10.Anyone have any comments about them?Where should the primer bulb go,between the motor and filter orthe tank and filter?Found some negative comments on other brands.Could'nt find any reviews on the Unikas. Thank you.

    MFS9.8A3S RPM's

    This engine was running at 5800 to 5900 rpm at WOT.The last couple times out it would only do about 5650 at WOT.Checked the throttle,it is wide open.Doe's not seem to be starving for fuel.Changed the fuel filter,did'nt help.The engine runs great and cold starts on the second pull every time.Any...

    Battery charging.

    RE:mfs9.8A3S. Are an alternator and rectifer the only parts needed to charge my battery?The battery is about 12ft.from the motor.What gauge wire would be best from the motor to the battery? Thank you.

    Starting a flooded engine.

    RE:MFS9.8A3S.Any way to start this engine after i flood it.If i let it sit for at least 30 mins.it will usually start,but not always.

    Does it hurt anything to change the brand of gear oil?Does it have to be labeled for marine use. Thank you.
