Winter storage.

What is the correct way to prepare an outboard motor for winter storage?I have been running the carb dry and fogging the motor.A outboard tech told me to leave the gas,treated with stablizer, in the carb
and not fog the motor.Is either one of these correct?Or is there a better way.

Run the carburetors dry as fogging oil is injected into the carburetor.----That is the best way for most older motors.-------Some newer motor can actually winterize themselves on command.----E-tec Evinrudes as an example.
