Guys... I am selling my 2006 twin BF225’s. The Honda dealer gave me a deal I could not pass up on 2017’s. My Honda dealer will be selling them and has already performed cylinder leak-down tests, cylinder pressure tests, etc. If anyone is interested, please PM me.
Looking for the diaphragm / bellows that’s attached to the intake manifold cover plate. I believe mine is bad. I hold thumb over tube inlet and it still closes/open, it doesn’t hold. On the diagram below it’s the piece at the bottom of item #5.
Dont feel like spending $360 for a $15 party...
Does anyone have real world experience on new BF225 fuel burn? I am looking at re-powering and wondering what people are getting for fuel burn on newer engines. I am looking at 2018's.
If anyone is running twins, please let me know what you are getting. With my 2006's I'm getting ~ 11...
I’m curios if any has replaced their coils on a BF 225 that’s around 10 years old or so? Or has experienced any issues. I just replaced one coil, but I’m thinking about replacing all of them. Thank you in advance.
Hello everyone! Got the boat back and two Gulf Stream trips later i have noticed a vibration in port motor, noticeable at idle. Definitely engine, not prop vibration. Both motors run strong, really strong but i don’t like the vibration. Talked to my Honda mechanic and he said check coils...
Background: went out fishing the other day, noticed water seeping from under cowl and after a bit had slight drop off in rpms on port motor. Heading 30 miles offshore decided it was fuel filter or just time for season maintence. Fished all day, heading back same issue. Engine started running...
Getting ready for part 1 of yearly maintenance this weekend. Replacing HP & LP fuel filters, T-Stats, etc. I came across the below piping diagram when looking fir one of the fuel filters and stumbled on yet another set of fuel filters. Take a look, this one appears to be yet another fuel pump...
Hey Guys,
Quick question about 4-strokes and yearly maintenance. What are you guys going? I have 2006 twin 225's and yearly maintenance is what I am planning, but just rolled the bill up to $600 (total for twins). Was wondering what the forum was doing and frequency? I would be over...
TDL was correct. There is a male tube fitting coming out of the block at E-18-10 on the following link. http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Honda/Outboard%20Engine/2004/BF225A4%20XCA/MOUNT%20CASE/parts.html
The hose goes from the block to the port side of the Vaper Separator assembly. I'm...
Good evening my fellow boaters. Last night as I was bringing the boat across I just happen to look back and see water coming out of the engine cover. It was not a drip, rather a flow of water. This morning I took the lower covers off to see what was happening. I can't tell where it is coming...
Good evening gentlemen. This week I took the gear case off and brought to Honda shop to replace bent prop shaft. Assembled the gear case today, but having a little trouble lining up the shift shaft spline. Got it assembled, or so I thought today. Once I had it in place, I tested the shifting...
Do you guys have any suggestions on lower unit locks. I'm taking vacation to West coast of Florida and leaving the boat int he water at the rental house. On other forums, have seen posts of lower units being stolen from people's dockside. Got me spoked a little.
I've searched the intra-web...
Good day my friends, or is it? I have 2006 BF225. Just removed the lower unit and it slid out nice. Come to find out, it appears I have motor oil dripping down from the belly of the engine to the lower unit, down the vertical shaft. Anyone ever encounter this? I'm guessing a gasket or seal?
Here is the background. Currently BOTH engines are overheating, need some assistance. Both motors services in April, new impellers and T'stats at that time. Been on 3-4 half day trips, not issues. About a month ago was running a local lake and did get in the shallows, could of sucked up some...
