    Pontoon steering has excessive play and ratcheting sound

    I have a 2004 Landau 200 Elite pontoon boat tthat has about 6 inches of play in the steering wheel. Is this normal? I also have a "ratcheting" sound and feel sometimes when I turn the wheel back from a full turn at high speed. Any ideas what that might be an indication of? Thanks.
