I have a 1994 Johnson 50 HP 2 stroke that has a couple of problems. I just put on a new OEM prop and when I started the engine for the first time after installing the prop, I got a warning horn for about 15 seconds and then it went away. I never did hear it again. I’m not sure what the horn indicated as it was not on that long but I never had it at all before installing the new prop. Also, the prop is the same diameter and pitch as the old prop. With the old prop the engine would run WOT at 5400 rpm. Now it runs about 5150 rpm WOT. If I have the same diameter and pitch why would I lose rpm with the new prop?
